do you know howto make YaKuake transparent to the below window? If I choose "Transparent - dark Background" it's not transparent, but shows my wallpaper in darker colors (But not e.g. the browser below the console)
Thanks!
yes just open the "Konsole" (ships with KDE) tool and then edit the Settings for Schema. There just choose the "Transparent Konsole" and set the Transparency to "Max" (you'll see a switch on the right side in that config dialog).
Now save you're new Schema with a custom name and make it default for your Konsole sessions. Now open Yakuake and right click into the window, choose "Use Konsole Settings".

Sebastian
It seemes it's only possible to show your wallpaper as background and to make it a little bit darker (what they call transparency)
What I need is to see what's directly below my konsole. For example if I press F12 while surfing, I need to see my browser "through" yakuake, and NOT my wallpaper.
Any idea?
Thanks one more time!
sorry dough i am not having a fitting answer but i tried transparent backgrounds as well. I got some experiences working in the bash (i have done all the coding work for fsphost by ssh and vim!).
I suggest to try the black on green Schema. I switched to this from a semi transparent background and it enhanced my bash work, really. Maybe you find a Schema which is the best for your eyes and for the daily desktop fun (i mean colors, fonts and that stuff).
Often the easier solution will give you the better results
But if you find a solution to get your bash background transparent, it would be nice if you shoot out a email with it (sebastian (at) fsphost [dot] com) it or just post it here.

Sebastian
I know a solution: Activate the translucency in your control panel. You could even use the green on black sheme with that. But it slows down everything if your graphic card is not the best... So in my case it's not a "real" solution.
I thought there might be a way to activate "real" transparency only for the konsole (or yakuake), but it doesn't seem to...
