hi guys,

I noticed some funny display errors on your blogsite. There are gigantically icons under every entry. Maybe it's an eventuality of an anomaly ;-) between IE and FireFox? I don't know...I'm reporting and you solve it ;-).

Seems to me that the really kind user 'felt abused' by the fact he couldn't explain his good feelings about FSPhost :-P

Please keep up the good work, I can not say that enough, do I?
;-)

Okay, now you are running a blog on fsphost.net... Will that be possible for users of fsphost in the future too? I mean is there any blog-software without php or cgi what will work on fsphost?
#4 HappyFSPhostuser (Homepage) on 2007-02-27 21:03
Hi,

I don' think that there is a blog software that will run without any database connection (where should it store the entries? :-)

but this i a nice idea, maybe our users request to have a blogging function.maybe we will setup a solution which provides everything needed to run a blog Maybe.

But first we need to get the new site up (still work to be done) and then we will track bugs. There will be a new function, "Request a Feature" where we will collect feature requests, we'll see what the users are strugglin for.

Regards,
Sebastian

I've been using FSPHost for a few months now, and let me say it's the best free host I've ever seen, but allowing the upload of CGI files would be a nice feature. Right now when I try, it gives me an error saying that the file type isn't supported. If CGIs are supported, then I guess I need to get a new Internet provider :-P

Hi,

thank you very much for your feedback. Its nice that you like what we're doing.

Currently we are not able to support CGI because of security issues we would have to handle. Maybe later.

Sebastian

Hello ,
I love the new look .. keep p the good job..
just a few doubts..
Will the older users be auto updated? or should i wait before i register?
and also (just curious) are there plans for PHP or MySQL ?
#6 GreyGhost on 2007-03-05 06:45
hi!

existing users will be auto-updated. So you can register now :-)

We do not currently plan to offer php and MySQL, this would add a lot more load to the servers....

Ahh yes..i understand ..
But keep up the great work :-)

Hi fsphost team,

thank you for this usefull & free service!

I used your hosting service for teaching a non-profit web-course to learn to create home-pages.

It worked fine for me except the IP access restriction who allowed only 3 students to register and acces there accounts. Is there a work-around for this?

Cheers,
Marc

Hi,

do all the students use the same ip? And all of them try to access the same account? We limited the number of accounts per ip.

Hello Fsphost Team.

I tried to make an entry earlier but I think it didnt succeed, here are my questions.

1. Why cant files be downloaded directly such as zip files?, whenever I put up a zip file and when I type the link in my browser it redirects to another page where I have to click a download button. I find this very inconvenient because I have a blocklist in a zip format, and I have a program that updates the Blocklist from my fsphost site, but it just doesnt work because the link to the file e.g http://four.fsphost.com/example/file.zip wont work.

2. I have noticed some files cannot be uploaded, I have found out that FSPhost filter some words out such as Hacker, But I dont know why, this happened when I tried to upload my school homework on fsphost but It did not let me. What Other words does fsphost filter? Because I cannot upload some files. Is there any way to get around this filter? I think some words should be removed on the filter

3. I can upload files with the extension .gz however when I put the link in my browser it just redirects to the main fsphost homepage, I am sure I have typed the link in correctly and Uploaded the file.

Thanks, I hope you take this into consideration for the new fsphost.

Hey Boris,

We have to filter some words, applications, file types ... because otherwise a lot of people would try to abuse our service (we had such cases in the past). Sorry.

Yes .gz files are blocked because a lot of bad people are using them to spread malware. Sorry.

Fsphost is a free service, but we got server costs (which are'nt peanuts) we have to pay and the advertising helps us to do this. Because of those costs we are showing ads on some download pages. Sorry Boris.

Sebastian

Hello Sebastian,

Which words are filtered? I need to remove them from my files so I can put my files on fsphost, please can you tell me?.

Which compression formats are not filtered?

I am not uploading any Illegal material.

Thanks,
Boris.

Can you check my website to see why it is not working properly? I used FTP upload all my files (include folders). It is working at my computer. Thanks!
